Got something to share? Been working on an interesting project? Have a great tip or lesson learned that has made your life easier?
We look forward to hearing from people who use CiviCRM on a daily basis, as well as from other professionals working in related fields.
If you have something to share that might interest our audience, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Example topics
Here are a few examples of the kind of content we’re looking for. But don’t let these ideas limit your thinking: we can’t wait to hear your ideas and anything else you think might interest our audience.
- Case Study – How does your organization use CiviCRM? What do you do? How has CiviCRM helped you? What lessons have you learned?
- Tips and Tricks – Explain how to tackle a specific challenge in CiviCRM (for example audience segmentation, A/B testing, membership management, creating public directories, etc.). What approaches work well? What lesser-known features are useful?
- Extension Showcase – Tell us about an extension: What problems does it solve? How have organizations benefited from it? How can we start using it?
Session Guidelines
- Aim your talk at CiviCRM users—not developers or integrators. Our primary audience consists of CiviCRM users: make sure your presentation is accessible to them.
- Focus on a single topic – Time is limited, and it won’t be possible to cover multiple topics in detail; instead, focus on a single idea or key point.
- Don’t assume prior knowledge—explain all new concepts, and only address technical details at the end of your presentation if necessary.
- Do not promote or sell your services – These forums are intended for sharing knowledge and experiences, not for selling proprietary products or services.
- Promote inclusivity – Make sure your language and the images you use are welcoming to everyone – please read our code of conduct for more information.
- Speak slowly, use simple words – There are many non native english speakers in the audience, be kind with them !
Timekeeping
Plan for a 20- to 25-minute presentation, followed by 15 to 20 minutes for questions.
⚡Lightning talk
Not quite ready to lead an entire session? Consider giving a lightning talk instead. These are fun, five-minute rapid-fire talks designed aimed to get your ideas across quickly. We’ll schedule as many as possible into a one-hour session right before lunch.
On the day
A moderator will introduce your session and help you answer questions from the audience. Please check in with the moderator before your session begins.
Please bring your own laptop equipped with an HDMI port. We will connect you while the previous speaker is answering questions.
Submit a session
Not sure if your idea is fully developed? Submit it anyway—we’ll help you out.
Alternatively, if you have any questions or would like to discuss your ideas before submitting them, please email guillaume@gestad.fr.
